With Senate District 1 and surrounding communities still feeling the impacts and road closures from recent flash flooding, here are a few important reminders to keep yourself and others safe:
🚧 Do not drive around closed road signs. Those signs are there for your safety — flooded or damaged roads can be extremely dangerous, even if they look passable.
đźš— Follow all posted detours. Emergency crews and road crews are working hard to keep people safe and restore access as quickly as possible.
🌧️ Stay alert. Check local updates for flood warnings, road closures, and power outages before heading out.
⚠️ Turn around, when necessary. Just a few inches of water can sweep a car off the road.
