As poor air quality due to smoke from the Canadian wildfires persists in our community and throughout Michigan, it’s important to remember this smoke can seriously impact our health—especially for children, older adults, and people with asthma or other respiratory conditions.
Here are some things to keep in mind during poor air quality days:
âś… Limit outdoor activity, especially exercise
âś… Keep windows and doors closed
âś… Run an air purifier if you have one
âś… Wear a well-fitted mask (like an N95) if you must be outside
âś… Check the air quality before heading out: airnow.gov
âś… If you have asthma, make sure you have your medication handy and follow your asthma action plan

This week and every week, let’s commit to advocating for policies and environments that truly support ALL breastfeeding families. ... See MoreSee Less
