As poor air quality due to smoke from the Canadian wildfires persists in our community and throughout Michigan, it’s important to remember this smoke can seriously impact our health—especially for children, older adults, and people with asthma or other respiratory conditions.
Here are some things to keep in mind during poor air quality days:
✅ Limit outdoor activity, especially exercise
✅ Keep windows and doors closed
✅ Run an air purifier if you have one
✅ Wear a well-fitted mask (like an N95) if you must be outside
✅ Check the air quality before heading out: airnow.gov
✅ If you have asthma, make sure you have your medication handy and follow your asthma action plan

Every parent deserves access to the information, healthcare, and community support they need to make the best choices for themselves and their babies.
This week and every week, let’s commit to advocating for policies and environments that truly support ALL breastfeeding families. ... See MoreSee Less
