As elected leaders, we should be focusing on making life easier for working families, not harder.
That’s why the economic policies I’m focused on include cutting taxes for parents and seniors, lowering the cost of health insurance, and supporting our small businesses. Unfortunately, President Trump and our representatives in Washington are taking another approach, choosing to rip health care and food assistance away from those struggling to stay afloat.
Not only is this cruel on a human level, but these cuts threaten the economic stability of our state. As we work toward finalizing a state budget, my Senate colleagues and I are taking a hard look at the numbers and making strategic adjustments, so hardworking Michiganders don’t have to shoulder the weight of these cuts.
